Analysis and Conclusion:

  1. Which cells were easier to see? Why?

  1. Calculate the average size of a plant cell and an animal cell (field of view diameter/number of cells that can fit across the diameter).

  1. If you wanted to see the cell’s organelles more clearly what type of microscope could you use?

Solutions

Expert Solution

SOLUTION - ONION CELLS

if we will see onion cell under a light microscope it will be easier to see

The reason behind this is so simple as we know onion contain simple sugar onion has less starch then of potato or other plants so iodine allows small amount of starch molecules to visible

PLANT CELLS CAN BE LARGER THEN THAT OF ANIMAL CELLS normally plant cells normal range may be lies between 10-30 mm while animal cells normal range lies between 10-100 mm

TO CALCULATE THE FIELD OF VIEW we need to know about magnification and also field number of currently used microscope's lens, so we will have to devide the field number by the magnification number to obtain the diameter of the microscope's field of view in this way we can find the number of cells that can fit across the diameter

And now if we want to see the cells organelles more clearly we would have to use electron microscope becouse to see smaller organelles like macromolecules and ribosomes we need electron microscope

A group of bird embryos was studied to see if the hair cells in cochlea were able to regenerate after trauma. The first group of bird embryos was treated with growth factors similar to brain-derived neurotrophic factor molecules. The second group of bird embryos had specialized growth genes introduced into their genomes through a virus. The third group was untreated and left to develop without growth factors and gene therapy. The total number of hair cells per cochlea was determined...

2. To see why this is relevant to our analysis of the arrangement of energy in degrees of freedom, first take a simple problem in the ways that you can arrange some cards from a deck. a. Suppose you have only the numbered cards from one suit (say hearts) of one deck (numbered from Ace = 1 to 10). If you choose 4 of those cards at random, how many different sets of those cards could you get? (Order doesn't...

A meta-analysis reports an average effect size of d = 0.11, with a confidence interval of d = 0.08 to d = 0.14. Would a hypothesis test (assessing the null hypothesis that the average effect size is 0) lead us to reject the null hypothesis? Explain.
