how is the experience of being a transracially adoptive family similar to and different from being in an interracial partnership/marriage?
The family structure can be explained in various forms as it exists in various types in the complex society. One of the family structure includes the transracially adoptive family. This concept explains that a family adopting a child that is different for their race.
Experiences of the transracially adoptive family and interracial marriage are interesting to study.
The experiences are similar in the sense that the racial differences and the circumstances related to it can be noticed. These are based on the different cultural take and people showing disaffection towards these communities. For instance, An family who has adopted a child from a different race will face social isolation and interracial marriage individuals will face social isolation from family.
The experience is different as in the people who are involved and the dynamics of relationships. In one end there are parents adopting some child whereas on the other hand two individuals who are getting to a romantic relationship. The situation and context are different. A family scenario will have its own problems like child education and interacila couple will have their own problems like how to adjust and how to make themselves accept the reality.
