1. To make sure that the health and safety of those workers who are under the supervisor.
2. To make sure that the required safety equipments and clothing are available to the workers and they use them whenever required.
3. To solve the disputes of the workers under his supervision and maintain dignity in the workplace.
4. To ensure that any case of unsafe conditions that are reported by the workers are inspected quickly and take suitable actions.
5. To ensure that the workers follow safety precautions.

2. Explain the basic facts about safety law and OSHA.
OSHA stands for "occupational safety and health administration". This law was made to ensure the safety and healthy working conditions of employees (both men and women) by establishing and enforcing standards and by ensuring training, assistance and education of the workers.
OSHA investigates and ensures that proper protective measures and use of safety equipments are being followed or not.
OSHA has set some standards that are to be followed in case of emergencies.
OSHA also keeps records of work-related injuries and illnesses.
3. Answer the question, “What causes accidents?”
The causes of workplace accidents are as follows:
1. Improper or no training: accidents may be caused due to improper or no training of the employees which makes the workers unaware of any upcoming risks in the workplace.
2. No use of safety equipments : When worker will not use safety equipments or they are not provided any safety equipment than they become more prone to accidents due to hazardous materials or any other unfortunate happenings.
3. Fatigue and stress: When any worker is too tired and stressed than his consciousness gets decreased and he becomes prone to accidents.
4. Not following Safety precautions: Some workers don't follow the safety or they may have forgot to follow the safety precautions they there are more chances of accidents.
5. Carelessness and unawareness of the employees and the supervisor are one of the major causes of accidents.
6. Unsafe working conditions: The unsafe working conditions (like place where fire is involved or where heavy equipments and materials are there or where hazardous or toxic chemicals are used) are prone to accidents even when minute mistakes or errors are done.
4. List and explain five ways to prevent accidents.
1. To ensure proper training of the workers: By doing this the employees would do any work correctly and there would be minimal chances of failure due to mishandling machines and equipments.
2. To Provide them proper safety equipments and ensure that they use them: By doing this the workers will remain safe in mis-happenings and there is less risk to them.
3. To increase awareness of the workers about risks and increase their awareness about precautions to be followed: By doing this employees can be made more aware of any risk that can occur and they will take suitable precautions while doing any job.
4. To ensure that no worker is overburdened and that every worker is in good condition to perform the job: This is one of the important way to prevent accidents because when employees are overburdened or they are sick then they are unable to work that effectively and are prone to accident.
5. By Proper supervision of the workers, machines and the workplace: This Provision can effectively control the carelessness of the workers and workers will avoid any shortcuts that causes accidents.
