differnce between folkways taboos and mores and slue and give examples for each one of them Please

Expert Solution

Folkways are customs which may be different for different cultures. They are customs accepted at some social groups but not necessarily accepted by the enitre human race morally.

For example, washing hands after food is seen as a common practice in some parts of India, but it may be seens as a insult to highers societies.

More are the norms of morality. Breaking norms or rulse may be offensive and may be later termed as a Taboo.

For example, entering the temple in a bikini may be offensive for the religious group and such behavior may be seen as a Taboo. Taboos are nothing but unacceptable behavior, incest behavior.

Slue here may mean inclination from a particular expected behavior. Change in behavior maybe.

For example, girls are prohibited to touch holy things during periods but if a girls suddenly changes her behavior regarding this practice, we may say she slued. However, the term Slue is new for me too and may not be 100% correct,so please check with others too.
