1. a) 4 ways of distance education in Ghana:
Types of distance learning
1. Internet
2. pre recorded Video
3. Two way interactive
4. Audio
1. Internet based education is very useful because through websites we can browse lot of information. They should be taught emails how messages can be sent. electronic bulletin boards and messaging systems can be used for distance education
2.Prerecoded videos are already recorded video tapes that are sent to the adult. they can watch at their conveience.
3. Two way interactive; Vedio are used for learning in different method. computers, satellites, cameras and television allow teachers and students to interact. This will be useful to clarify the doubts.
4. Audio: Distance education is done through audio which includes everything from phone, conferences, radio broadcasting and prerecorded audi CDs..
1. b) Distinguish between Educational sociology and sociology of education:
Educational sociology and sociology of education are two differnt braches of study. The differences are to the subjects of their study and the nature of the branches of study. Educational sociology is the branch of study that deals with the various methods to provide better education to society by doing indepth research of our culture and society.sociologists and educationalists are taken into consideration in educational sociology. The general belief othat the subject is an invaluable assest to all the students and researchers , who are involved in a deep study of education will benefit from the branch of educational sociology. The sociology of education is the study of hoe public institutions and individual experiences affect education and its outcomes. Education is a fundamental endeavour of every individual.. The study is basically on the topics of higher education, further education, adult education which are included and also development of public schooling systems and its impact are included in sociology of education.
c). Three Characterstics of successful teacher:
i. Respect for the profession and students: The teachers ahould always have respect towards what they are diong as a teacher because they are creating new generation by educating them. They should even respect the students in turn the students will respect and listen to the teachers
2. Knowledgs about the subject: The teacher should master the subject and should have thorough knowledge and should work accordingly.
3.Passion for teaching: Until a teacher develops passion towards teaching he or she can never success in teaching. They should think teaching is not a profession , it should be a passion.
2. a) Privitization of education: Children the nation builders of the future, so they should be provided with proper education. Privitization has increased the scope of admissions in all levels of education. The quality of education hsa increased to a great extent with new setups. Due to infrastucture and quality education many people prefer private colleges. Government schools are utterly failing in this aspect. the differences bteween the poor and the rich children. though the government is bringing many schemes like fed concepts, everything free but the public are not showing much interest. Children admitted the private schools are studying at three places, at school, at hone and coaching classes. children inducted are from good family backgroud they get support from their parents and hence perform better.
b) Socratic technique:The Socratic professor aims for "productive discomfort", , the aim is not to stike fear in the hearts of students, so that they come prepared to class, but to strike fear in the hearts of students that they either cannot articulate clearly the values that guide their lives. The socratic method uses questions to examine the values, principles and beliefs of students. He focuses on moral education on how one ought to live.Socratic method is better used to demonstatre complexity, difficulty and uncertainity than at eliciting facts about the worldHos conversational guidelines are learn student names and have the students learn each others names.
c) How teacher can use Socratic techniques:
1.Ask questions and be comfortable with silence, silence create a kind of helpful tension.
2.Find ways to produce " productive discomfort "
3.Follow up questions, get students to account for themselves.
4. Always be open to learn something new.
5.Welcome to crazy ideas.
6.Breviety and short intervention from the professor.
7.Discourage obsequious deference to authirity and status.
8. Find a classroom space that encourages interactions.
9.Dont be scared of size.
10.Set down controversial guidelines.
3. Adult learning:.Adult learning will be redellious, because we dont like being told what to do, we do things in our own time. Adults are autonous and self directed. adults are goal oriented.adults have accumulated a foundation of life experiences and knowledgs. adults are practicle. adults are relevancy oriented.
