1)Technologies other than GPS and GIS used to track inventory through the supply chain: a)Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN).

RFID: This tracking system uses a chip that is being attached to the customer's goods and other objects so that the movement can be traced easily and accurately. These RFID tags are submissive and only prompt data if requested or initiated by a reader. The reader then transmits radio waves that will activate the RFID tag. The tag then transmits the relevant information through a pre-determined radiofrequency. This information captured is then transmitted to a central database.

WLAN: These devices are used to pass data over radio waves and provide users with a network with a range of 70 to 300 fee
