It is stated by the Institute of Supply Mnagement (ISM) that about 75 percent of the companies all over the world has reported supply chain desruptions. These desruptions are all arised due to transportaion restrictions arised due to COVID-19 pandemic. Ocean frieght options to move products are undergoing many restrictions in the country, as all the major countries have imposed lock down in their territory. The worst part is that even the major entities lack the plan for what to do next. This pandemic has now revealed that decadesof focus on cost minimisation and reduction in inveteroies, but, still the compalies arent aware of the vulnerability in supply chain in global terms. This scenario, would finally make the companies to rethink about their global supply chain model. The major disruption arised due to China's present situation. As it holds the title of world producer, and facing this situation has really worsened global supply chain.
Majorly, there is a shortage for food products in the world. As many of the countries are facing this pandemic, there is no proper trade. Hence, it creates a huge demand for orgainc food items. Organic proceesed products and spices are facing a huge shortage in global market. Also, there is shortage of medicine all over the world. But we can see that India, is keenly supplying medicinal drugs to every nations as possible.
