Please find either a short video or an article about two specific eating disorders ( e.g., binge eating disorder, Anorexia, bulimia, pica). The videos can be personal stories (social media), news stories or documentaries that depict a true case of an individual(s) with an eating/feeding disorder. The articles can come from research journals or informal magazines. I'm basically wanting you to find some interesting info about the disorders. Here's what you must then do: both assignments must be put into one submission (e.g., start with info for one disorder and then do the info for the other-all in one document) For each disorder, write a brief statement that reflects what the video/article is about (3-4 sentences max) for each disorder, describe how it appropriately/inappropriately depicts the disorder For each disorder, provide a brief reflection of what you learned, what emotions it triggered for you or what thoughts/questions it stimulated for you. attach a link to the videos or articles (you can just attach a file for articles if it's easier) Rate each video/article on a scale from 1-10 (in terms of it being interesting and something that you think I should watch.
Elle Tayla in her you tube post (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjm3XTMEUAM) narrates how she went near death and came back alive because of her eating disorder, Anorexia Nervosa. She was a national swimmer but once she stopped going for swimming a fear of gaining weight gripped her thus started losing weight. She lost nearly 40kg in less than 6 months which is very dangerous because she was not overweight either. She became malnourished because of her fear of foo, calories thus ending up in lots of exercise.
Denise is in her 30s who struggles with Binge Eating and Emotional Eating (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OFe_SOR35s). She is not able to control her eating both in terms of what she eats and what amount she eats. She consumes excessive amount of food as well as snacks sitting on the couch watching TV but she regrets that she is not able to control it and wonders what would happen to her.
I think in the first instance of Anorexia Nervosa, people need to have a proper self-image and appreciate the way they look, come out of over exercising and eat healthy food. In the case of over eating, it’s about self-control and proper exercise that are needed.
