Solutions

Expert Solution

No the Juvenile courts should not be abolished because they cannot be replaced with the other adult courts that could mitigate punishments for minors, simply because both the courts have a different setup and environment and Juvenile courts specially cannot be substituted.

PROS-

  • the number of courts would be reduced and so would be the government expenditure on them
  • The confusion of which court to proceed towards will decrease

CONS-

  • The charges the lawyers are only used to setup where an adult criminal is brought and they would not be able to handle the juveniles with the delicacy they are required to be handled with
  • The environment of adult courts is different from that of Juvenile courts, which can eventually hinder progress and development in future
  • The punishments could also turn out to be Harsh on the juveniles
  • The employement of the judges and the lawyers will also be decreased which will cause unemployment
  • The burden on the courts will increase
  • The juveniles can also be influenced by the adult criminals
