HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE:-
1.ABSTRACT :- High Performance Concrete (HPC) has been used more widely in recent years for the construction of important concrete structures and high rise buildings. Fire accidents, sabotages or natural hazards are the situations where HPC is likely to get exposed to elevated temperatures. As a consequence, it undergoes change in its chemical composition, physical structures and there is deterioration in its mechanical properties.
2. SUMMARY:- HPC is a concrete that has atleast one outstanding property,Compressive Strength, High Workability, Enhanced Resistances to Chemical or Mechanical Stresses, Lower Permeability, Durability etc. as compared to normal concrete. For example, Self- compacting Concrete is a specific part of High Performance Concrete, which distinguishes itself with self-consolidation properties coupled with high flowability.
3. OBJECTIVE:- The main objective of this High Performance Concrete (HPC) Structural Designers' Guide, referred to as the “Designers' Guide” throughout, is to provide a source of information to structural designers for the design and construction of highway bridges and related structures using HPC.
4. methodology:- High-performance concrete (HPC) is produced by careful selection and proportioning of its constituents namely cement, sand, gravel, cementitious materials such as fly ash; silica fume; and slag, and chemical admixtures for instance high range water reducing admixtures. These ingredients are mix thoroughly and prepare a mold for filling the concrete paste and get HPC.

5. Result:- High performance concrete provides high durability, strength, low water-cement ratio and longer life span of the structure. Special ingredients such as plasticizers, optimum aggregate size and fiber steel reinforcement are used to make this type of concrete admixture.Results shows that of Silica Fume mixed with cement gives higher compressive strength than normal HPC0 (HPC with 0% replacement of cement). ... When compared with the conventional concrete, HPC3 showed 19.3%, 23.3% and 23.98% increase in Compressive Strength for 7 days, 14 days and 28 days curing.
This project work is primarily focused on the properties of
materials used, mix proportion of High Performance Concrete, making
of concrete specimen, curing and testing of harden concrete.On
performing the various tests the physical properties of the
specimens are studied and the following conclusions are arrived.On
comparing the result high performance concrete having 7.5% Silica
Fume gives a maximum compressive strength value. Maximum splitting
tensile strength value is achieved when cement is replaced with
7.5% of Silica Fume.
