Why has health care administration increased so much over the past thirty years? How has this increase affect health care costs?
The health care administration mainly involves the efficient operation of the different healthcare units and ensuring their proper management, leading the team of the medical staff, ensuring the proper healthcare services to the patients, managing various operations, and ensuring the safety and security of the patient and their data.
There has been increased healthcare administration during the last three decades as the expectations of the higher health care services has increased drastically. The government and other regulatory bodies have imposed many regulations and guidelines that are needed to be administrated and adhered to. MEDICARE and Medicaid have also resulted in greater coordinated efforts and better management of the patient data. With the implementation of electronic patient health records, the data integrity has become one of the main concerns. All these are among the reasons that has put a lot of pressure on the healthcare administration and due to increased processes, monitoring, and coordinated efforts, the cost related to the healthcare administration has increased drastically.
As the healthcare administration has increased, it has reflected in the form of the increased cost of healthcare services as the hospitals have to ensure various procedural and regulative guidelines and at the same time ensuring very high quality of the medical standards and healthcare services.
