To determine the enthalpy and entropy of dissolving a compound, you need to measure the Ksp at multiple Choose... . Then, plot In(Ksp) vs. Choose... . The slope of the plotted line relates to the Choose... of dissolving and the intercept of the plotted line relates to the Choose..., of dissolving.
To determine enthalpy and entropy of dissolving compound , you need to measure Ksp at multiple "Temperatures".
Then, plot ln(Ksp) vs "1/T". The slope of plotted line relates to the "- ΔHo/ R" or " enthalpy" of dissolving and the
intercept of plotted line relates to the "ΔSo/ R" or "entropy" of dissolving.
ΔGo = - RT ln Ksp --------------------> (1)
ΔGo = ΔHo - T ΔSo ----------------> (2)
From equation (1) and (2) ,
- RT ln Ksp = ΔHo - T ΔSo ------------------> (3)
ln Ksp = -ΔHo/RT + ΔSo/R
Plot of ln Ksp vs 1/T,
Slope = -ΔHo/R
Intercept = ΔSo/R
