f) Discuss the following design criteria “the member must be designed adequately and safely to sustain the load i.e. ᵠR≥ᵞQ”
g) What are the difference between design and analysis of the rc section?
h) Explain the behavior of rc beam (load-deflection or Moment-curvature) under the flexural loading highlighting different stages of loading till failure; i.e. un-cracked section, cracked section, service condition, yielding and ultimate loading condition.
f) Structure is the basic civil engineering entity which is used in every day life. The every RC structure should be safe against collapse. i.e., the structure should be designed such that it should withstand the acting loads throughout its service period. Such that the strength of the structure should be greater than that of loads acting on it.
i.e., Design strength >> Strength of factored loads.
Why it is needed ?
If the designed structure didn’t meet the requirements it will be collapsed. Which leads to lots of loss property loss and people. So to avoid all this circumstances we should design the structure conservatively. So we should design the structure to its ultimate strength.
g) Analysis deals with the how much force is applied on the structure and analyse at different cross section. Is the acting force exceeds the ultimate strength. And behaviour of the structure under these loads.
And design is related with the shape and size of that cross section so that it can safely trasmit the load.
