Overview of Human Skull
Human skull is made of 22 immovable bones, out of which eight are cranial bones and 14 are facial bones. Human skull provides support to face and makes a cavity for brain.
Overview of Pig Skull
Skull of pig has large head with long snout ( long projecting nose). The function of snout is to dig the soil to find food. The skull is high with a sloping crest towards the front end. Their head is formed by parietal, supraoccipital bone and prenasal bone. Parietal and supraoccipital bones separate prenasal bone at the tip of the snout.
Similarity between human skull and pig skull
1. Both have jaw of mandible which are joined to skull.
2. Both of them have expanded nasal chamber.
Difference between human skull and pig skull
1. The shape of the skull is different. Human skull is almost round in shape and pig skull is large with long snout having sloping crest towards the front end.
