Answer:

Supply Chain - Supply chain operations are basically transportation of ram materials from the vendors/ suppliers to the organization and shipment/ dispatch of finish goods from the organization to customer warehouse locations. This requires high skill set on transportation & logistics processes for management of shipments of materials from one location to another location.

Internet enabled collaborative supply chain system working: The internet enabled collaborative supply chain system works in a systematic approach of using the internet for the information and uses the available resources in collaborative manner. The internet based information flow helps in right information at right time and the warehousing and logistics system uses this quick information for their flow and route optimization.

Major Benefits are: The major benefits are that the supply chain works on the optimized approach and the needful information can be feed in the supply chain operations. This helps in improved customer delivery by delivering the material on reduced lead time and cost benefits as optimized the routes for the supply chain business.

Issues in the failed implementation: The issues in failed implementation are that the supply chain system did not achieve their desired operational efficiency if the improvement projects in supply chain are not implemented properly and they got failed in implementation. Thus it will result in improper operation support due to failed projects.

Causes of the failure: The causes of failure could be because of lack of resources or lack of adherence to the implementation plan or lack of implementation plant itself or lack of monitoring on the project implementation schedule. The implementation plan may not have covered the all key tasks which are required for the adequate implementation of the project.

Do differently in the second implementation: In the second implementation, essential due care is provided to the project and its implementation plan. All the resources are ensured for their skill set and suitability for the project implementation. The implementation plan will be monitored effectively on time so that they don’t miss any important tasks in the execution.

Lessons learned from Veropoulos’ experience: Following are the key lessons to be learn from Veropoulos’ experience are

  • One should have the defined project plan for the project implementation
  • The resources skill set should be suitable to the nature of tasks of the project
  • The positive approach and motivation should be explored for effective project execution.
  • Timely monitoring is the key element in ensuring the project execution properly.
