From my recent travel experience here are the tips and travel etiquettes I would suggest to have to ensure a great experience and understanding of cultural and ethnic differences:

• It is important to take travel as a learning experience: The individual must do research on various customs, religious aspect, culture and history of the place being visited. Having an understanding of the country will help you avoid making mistakes. The learning also adds value to the experience as you are more acceptable in the country and people help to get a further understanding.
• It is important to understand that you are a traveller in the country hence follow the basic rules and regulations. Most of the people are living their normal life so as a traveller don't engage in activities which impacts them in a bad manner. Be friendly in your interactions and take help from locals when some actions have doubts.
• The traveller should avoid the complaining attitude and manage expectation. It is important to understand the destination is not your home and hence one must be sensible and articulate the thoughts in a good manner.
• Wear proper clothing and attire as acceptable in the country. Understand various physical factors like weather conditions to make such a decision. It is important to understand traditions, customs to abide by dress codes.
• Understand the rules and regulations of the country and brush up the language skills: It is important to understand various rules that guide discipline in the country. Eg. Jay-walking is not allowed in Singapore.
• Having an understanding of native language and some words can help to move better in a country. Every nation has its own preference and an understanding of body language hence it is important not to hurt feeling by using inappropriate words and stick to your boundaries.
