Steps in SPSS :

1. Enter the data in data view and define the variable name " grad_rate" in variable view.

2. First of all we compute the sum of grad_rate. Go to Analyze, then go to Descriptive Statistics, then go to Descriptives.

3. Now enter "grad_rate" in Variable(s) , then go to Options and select SUM, Continue and then click on OK.

4.The following output will be generated:-

5.Go to Transform, then go to Compute variable.

6.Now follow this :-

7. Click OK and you will get a new column of "grad_rate_in_percent".
