How does sport governance in the US differ from governance in other countries? Would a ministry of sport benefit the US?
Sport governance in the US is a position held by politicians or
officials in some countries governed by a parliamentary system. In
some countries, "ministers" are lower-level ministers who are
appointed to assist the cabinet. In other countries, "ministers"
hold high positions, such as cabinet ministers or heads of
government.
A minister is a politician who heads the ministry, works and
implements policy decisions together with other ministers. In some
jurisdictions, the head of state is also a minister and is
appointed "prime minister," "chancellor," or other title.
Yes, A ministry of sport would benefit the US. In the jurisdiction of realm, which uses the Westminster system, ministers are usually required to be members of one of the legislatures or the legislature, and usually from the political parties that control the majority in the lower house of Parliament. In other jurisdictions such as Belgium, Mexico, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Slovenia, cabinet officials or other civil servants are not allowed to be members of the legislature. Based on the administrative arrangements within each jurisdiction, the Minister is usually the head of a government department and a member of a government ministry, the Cabinet, and perhaps a committee of the Council of Ministers. Some ministers may be higher than others, and others may be "assistant ministers" or "deputy ministers." Some jurisdictions with a large number of ministers may appoint ministers at the Ministry of Interior or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or in the Council of Ministers.
