MOTIVATION creates magic, for it to happen irrespective of place there must be a presence of at least two people (generally manager and his sub-ordinate), but most importantly a mind that generates a feeling to be motivated. lt is a fact that motivation comes itself from within for any work or task and you can never forcefully motivate anyone.

Importance of motivation -

  • To begin with the benefits of motivation, the best thing it does (no matter whether e count it from a team perspective or individual perspective) is to increase your potential. A motivated person performs more than its counterpart. The kind performance is not important but the level of performance makes a big difference.
  • With increased potential and more dedication, you can definitely improve their performance level.
  • It creates magic in the workplace since the motivated mind will look only for something valuable and try to avoid useless things in any way.
  • Lesser employees turnover and chances to implement new changes are some of the new gates that open up with a motivating environment and mind.

The personal and contextual factors both depend upon the kind of work a person is surrounded by but yes these factors have an impact on the motivation. Some personal factors -

  1. To be the best in the workplace, this feeling is right as no one can claim it as selfish behavior. There can be several purposes behind this attitude from growth, salary and payscale to anything
  2. Some specific targets to achieve

Rewards are crucial as we have seen that motivation is goal-oriented. It has to achieve something whether it be to just perform a task in its best possible way or to get promotions, hike, or some reward. So, it plays a crucial role in motivating employees, but again the behavior is prime. With a bad behavior, you cannot expect your employees to get motivated and perform well. Yes, they are helpful in most cases until the behavior and exploitation factors are not introduced.
