Discuss the pros and cons of framing and anchoring. Discuss whether or not individuals, groups, or organizations are likely to reach the same conclusions / decisions / choices in the absence of framing and anchoring. Why and why not?
pros of framing and anchoring -
using framing and anchoring in the decision making can make the decision influenced and one can take advantage of making everyone on the same line for a particular decision.
it can affect the behavior of the consumer towards one's advantage.
one can create positivity for a negative set of inforamtion. motivating group to do the work.
cons -
it creates ias if anyone finds the correct information of fact the listener can lose confidence.
it will not work if the framing and anchoring are done out of the context i.e one has to take a relevant example or information to the frame to win.
sometimes for situations, these become disadvantageous to offer and can result in chaos.
This is not always same that the framing and anchoring are always required to get the individual, group, organization to come at the same decision if there is no disagreement or if the situation is so there to maintain them in the same decision it can happen usually Framing and anchoring are the method to get the decision in favor for the individual or organization usually there is often disagreement between the members of the group to take a particular decision so manager by this method often creates a situation by framing and anchoring so that decision can come in favor for them.so these two create a bias in decision-making framing sentences positively and negatively. People are risk-averse they tend to avoid more risk and relatively takes a decision which shows them less risk and more chance of being successful so the manager often frames several sentences positively or negatively according to the situation so that the decision comes in their hand. similarly by using the anchoring effect manager creates a decision bias by given group members an inforamtion directly or indirectly to serve their purpose and the inforamtion is anchored in the mind of listener and one makes judgment subsequent adjusting away from the inforamtion given. so these two techniques are combined and the orator while making a presentation follows these two techniques in framing sentences so that the division is made and everyone reaches the same conclusion.
