Module 02 Discussion – Diversity Resources

As a manager, you will often encounter situations related to diversity challenges that are new to you and you will depend on resources to help you guide your actions. Research websites, books, or journals and see what possible resources exist for you to deal with new challenges.

Identify two resources other than what has been provided on the lecture pages (be sure to include the link or specific information so the readers can research them as well.) and provide how each might be useful to you as a manager in the workplace. Include your thoughts on the credibility of the sources and any limitations they might have.

As a manager the following steps needs to be taken to implement diversity:

  1. Diversity Strategy:The diversity strategy helps to determine on the different culture with different kinds of people. The strategic plan focus on the competitive advantage as where the number of employees can be increased through diversity. It involves with innovation on creating new ideas through diversity strategy as where it would be a mix of different knowledge and skill of the people helps to reach the goal of the organization.
  2. Recruitment: The recruitment needs to be planned on diversity as where the hiring needs to be done without any differentiation on sex, race, age etc. The hiring plan would focus on increasing the diversity ratio that helps the company to sustain in the market for longer through their good performance on the work commitments.
  3. Diversity Friendly Policies: The policies needs to be framed according to the employees, a different policies to be framed for women, physically challenged employees etc as that should be a friendly policies to be accepted by all kind of employees. Only these policy would encourage the employees to overcome on the culture problems and to follow ethics in the work environment.
  4. Acceptance Awareness:The team members needs to work together on to achieve on the goal of the organization. Create an awareness with the team on explaining on the importance of diversity in the workplace and as that need to be accepted by every individual for a good coordination and teamwork.
