Tools such as Tableau provide a variety of data visualizations. However, all visualizations are not appropriate for every key business question. For example, a bar chart may not help tell the same story as a tree map.

  • 1.) Bubble Charts -- Using bubble chart the data can be displayed with the help of circle.
  • This chart is use to dispaly relationship between three or more measures. and it can visualize large volume of data at once using diffrent color circle and size.
  • Steps to create bubble chart for sales and profit --
  • First step is to connect with superstore data source.
  • then drag category diamension to columns.
  • Drag sales measure to raw.
  • To select packed bubble chart type, click show me on the tool bar.
  • To include more bubbles in the view, drag region to detail on the marks card.
  • on the marks card, Drag profit to color .
  • To clarify what each bubble represent, drag region to lable on the marks card.
  • 2.) Box plots -- Box plots are used to display the distribution of data for the values like median, outliers, first quartile.
  • It is used in comparision of the variation in data.
  • The boxes indicate middle 50 percent of the data which include middle two quartile of the data's distribution.
  • Steps to create box plots that shows discount by region and customer segement --
  • First, you need to connect to superstore data source.
  • drag the segement diamension to column
  • After that, drag the discount measures to rows.
  • Then drag region diamension to columns, and drop it to right of the segement.
