Identify and explain the primary priorities and responsibilities of the IRB
Introduction- The institutional review board also known as institutional ethics committee (IEC), is related to ethical issues in research. The purpose of IRB is to monitor the humanity and ethical issues in research and trial. Any research need subjects as human or non-human, so the issues of human rights and human welfare can occur during or post research, the IRB prepare ethics and welfare for research purpose.
Responsibility- The main responsibility of IRB is to monitor and prepare, ethics of research and aware about subject’s human rights as well as welfare. IRB formally designated to approve, reject, suggest and monitor research in which human or animals use as subjects. The IRB assure that appropriate steps are taken to protect the rights and welfare of subjects (Humans or Non-Humans). In USA, the FDA, IACUC and DHHS are some example of IRBs and they are responsible to solve ethical issues in research.
In United States, the IRBs governed by Title 45, Code of federal regulation part 46. These regulations define the regulations for institutional review.
