Some have argued that sustainable strategies have been said to be too costly. Others have argued that the nature of sustainable strategies (waste reduction) makes these strategies more efficient and effective. Take a position and provide a solid argument for it and back it up with facts and examples where possible.
It is true that sustainable strategies are costly and adapting them will be an expensive affair for the companies but not adopting them means ignoring the effects of not being sustainable to the environment and the individuals living in the polluted atmosphere. Hence even though sustainable strategies cost a good amount but not adopting them cannot be an option to choose. The only solution to this issue is identifying strategies that will be sustainable and affordable. The balance of benefits from abatement and costs should be maintained. These strategies if implemented effectively are an essential element of protecting the environment and utilising resources effectively. The benefits attached to the sustainable strategies and the drawbacks from ignoring it are such that cannot be ignored. Migitating the factors of pollution and maintaining a healthy environment is a corporate responsibility of every organization. The solution is adopting the sustainable development policy which emphasis on environmental protection, economic growth and social justice. Thus not a sustainable strategy but policies focusing on an overall sustainable development should be implemented where the economy, society and environment, none are ignored.
