The purpose of hypothesis testing is to determine whether there is enough statistical evidence in favor of a certain belief, or hypothesis, about a parameter.

Assume there are two firm who produce same kind of electric bulb. Firm A claim that the disappointment pace of a bulb produce in firm An is 20% higher than the bulb produce in firm B. This is an announcement. A specialist can test this announcement by a basic experiment. He will take some bulb (n1) from firm An and some bulb (n2) from firm B and based on his analysis, he can conclude that whether the case of firm An is valid or not.

Hypothesis is very important for a researcher because he want to get conclusion based on the experiment & data.

Null hypothesis H0: failure rate of bulb produce by firm A & firm B is same.

Alternative hypothesis H1: failure rate of bulb produce by firm A is higher than firm B.
