Based on what you have read and discussed this week, what would be the most important elements that you could share with a hiring manager in the limited 5 minutes she has available to talk? With this in mind, develop a script for your 5-Minute Pitch as your first professional reflection that cohesively addresses the following:
The most important elements that you could share with a hiring manager in the limited 5 minutes she has available to talk are-
Firstly, it is important to make the hiring manager a good image about my personality. Therefore, the three most elements to exhibit my personality are commitment, responsibility and accountability.
Secondly, the hiring manager should know about my skills hence the two most important elements would be about my experience and my achievements with examples that would convince her that I would be the best fit for the job role.
This role would be a great fit for my personality and experience hence I would be able to contribute effectively to the team’s success. Being a manager is a challenging role as it involves managing people. Effective managers have a high level of interpersonal skills, mentoring and forward planning. These skills are used to handle the team efficiently by mentoring and guiding them in the processes. Additionally, managers would be successful if they foresee the future and develop forward planning. This strategic thinking would enable the manager to adapt him/her and the team to the fast changing business environment.
Behavioral skills that would make me an effective manager would be understanding and listening to the team members. A team would form successfully if they are fully understood about their concerns and addressed. It is also essential to listen to what the team members are saying as this active listening paves way for forming a successful team.
Characteristics that would make me a successful manager would be to develop the employees’ career and build a culture in the team and the organization that has mutual trust. Walk the talk would inspire my team members to make ethical decisions in both professional and personal life.
Note- If you liked the answer, please give an up-vote, this will be quite encouraging for me, Thank you.
