A. Physical state- Liquid
B .Routes of exposure and symptoms
PVC Gloves, Nose Mask , Safety Shoes , Splash Googles.
D .First and procedure
Eye: If the material gets in to the eyes, immediately flush eyes gently with water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids apart. If symptoms develop as a result of vapor exposure, immediately move individual away from exposure and in to fresh air before flushing as recommended above seek immediate medical attention.
SKIN: Immediately flush skin with water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Seek immediate medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse and discard contaminated shoes.
Swallowing: Seek immediate medical attention. Do not include vomiting. Vomiting will cause further damage to the mouth and throat. If the individual is conscious and alert, immediately rinse mouth with water and give milk or water to drink. If possible, do not leave individual unattended.
Not applicable.- As it is non flammable
F . Chemical reactivity
Stability: The product is stable.
Incompatible materials. light, air, heat Incompatibility with various substances: Reactive with reducing agents, combustible materials, organic materials, metals, acids.
Corrosivity: Extremely corrosive in presence of aluminum. Corrosive in presence of stainless steel(304), of stainless steel(316). Noncorrosive in presence of glass.
G. Safe storage
Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Separate from acids, alkalies, reducing agents and combustibles. See NFPA 43A, Code for the Storage of Liquid and Solid Oxidizers. Air Sensitive Sensitive to light. Store in light-resistant containers.
H. Safe disposal
Dilute with water and flush to sewer of local ordinances allow, otherwise, whatever cannot be saved for recovery or recycling should be managed in an appropriate and approved waste disposal facility. Waste must be disposed of in accordance with federal, state and local environmental control regulations.
I .Environmental precautions and Eco toxicity
Toxicity to Animals: Acute oral toxicity (LD50): 5800 mg/kg [Mouse]. (Sodium hypochlorite).
Chronic Effects on Humans: CARCINOGENIC EFFECTS: Classified 3 (Not classifiable for human.) by IARC [Sodium hypochlorite]. MUTAGENIC EFFECTS: Mutagenic for bacteria and/or yeast. [Sodium hypochlorite]. Mutagenic for mammalian somatic cells. [Sodium hydroxide]. Contains material which may cause damage to the following organs: lungs, mucous membranes, skin, eyes. Other Toxic Effects on Humans: Very hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant), of ingestion, . Hazardous in case of skin contact (corrosive), of eye contact (corrosive). Slightly hazardous in case of inhalation (lung sensitizer, lung corrosive).
J. Spill clean-up procedure
Small Spill: Absorb liquid on vermiculite, floor Absorbent or other absorbent material
Large Spill: Prevent run-off to severs, streams or other bodies of water .If run-off occurs, notify proper authorities as requires, that a spill has occurred. Person not wearing protective equipment should be excluded from area of spill until clean-up has been completed. Stop spill at source, dyke area of spill to prevent spreading, pump liquid to salvage tank. Remaining liquid may be taken up on and, clay, earth, floor absorbent or other absorbent
