How would we determine the right comparative method to use when analyzing the different studies that we are interested in using in our research?

Solutions

Expert Solution

A comparative study is defined as a study in which two (or more) treatments are going to investigate over a period of time and a comparison of various outcomes are examined using statistical tests. A statistical test is needed to ensure the robustness of the results relative to your study design...

First of all find out what is your research question/primary hypothesis?.. Clearly understanding about objective of the research is the first step.. And then You can use any of the following statistical analysis techniques which required for your research..

  • In case you are dealing with numerical data like height, weight, haemoglobin, income, sales etc. You can use t-test or normal test for comparison of means of any two groups of interest.
  • In case you are dealing with percentages or proportions such as proportion of defectives, proportion of particular disease etc use normal proportion test.
  • In case of qualitative data like preference to music, dance, taste etc where you are able to categorize the data into groups, you can use chi-square test.
  • For instance, I wish to see whether possession of TV, Computer, Refrigerator, Washing machine or car varies by different socioeconomic status then essentially I am dealing with frequencies. In such cases, use chi-square test.

Dear student please Thumbs up if you are satisfied..

Hi, I would like to know which method should we use when doing physics calculations? Acceleration = Speed / Time Let's say we are given 5 measurements of speed and time. S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 and T1,T2,T3,T4,T5. We are given two methods. 1) Find the mean of speed and time, and find their respective standard deviation and standard error. E.g. speed = 0.5 +- 0.2 m/s and 3 +- 0.2 s, substituting into the acceleration formula and doing the...

We are going to look at how the radial velocity method can be used to determine the mass of a planet. The observations that get made look at two things: the wobble of the star (it is measured as a change in the speed the star appears to be traveling towards or away from us) and the amount of time it takes for the pattern to repeat itself. Let's consider the planet beta Gemini b. The change in the speed...
