parts of microscope
A microscope is an instrument which uses a combination of lenses to magnify microscopic specimens.
A microscope is divided into -
Frame - which holds the eyepiece and ocular lenses.
Body - which holds all the other parts of a microscope.
Base or foot - upon which the whole assembly of microscope rests.
Other parts of a microscope -
Eyepiece, which holds the ocular lenses.
Ocular lenses, which forms virtual image of the specimen.
Revolving turret, which holds 3 objectives.
Objectives, contain objective lenses.
Ovjective lenses, form real image of the specimen.
Diaphragm, which controls the intensity of light passing to the specimen.
Condensor, which focuses light on the specimen.
Light source or bulb.
Light control, which is used to regulate entering the specimen.
Coarse focus knob, used to locate a good image of the specimen.
Fine focus knob, used to focus the image of the specimen.
Light switch or power button.
