How did the colonies interact differently with the Americans Indians?

There were many differences created with time between the American Indians and colonies.   

The interaction was different on many terms such as trade of food and goods, their respective cultures and belief system. American Indians used to reside in the Eastern coast of North America. They are also called native groups. The American Indians used to live on the Eastern coast with nature. They were mainly dependent on agricultural and trade practices. The American Indians respected nature and were able to live a decent life. They had a strong trade knowledge and capability.

Later on, the European settlers came along the Eastern coast. For European settlers owning a land was linked to owning of power, wealth and prosperity. Therefore, the European settlers aimed to own this Eastern coast.

However, the American Indians were totally unaware of this ideology. They welcomed these European settlers and around 1500's they all started with trading of food and goods. Both American Indians and European settlers spoke different languages, followed different cultures.

Everything was going well until more European settlers came to reside in the area of American Indians around 1620's and as years passed the number of European settlers kept increasing. European settlers then started to cut down more trees and acquired land by fencing it. They didn't allow American Indians to enter the land either. From here on clash for tribes and land started.

Also, new settlers from Europe brought diseases like small pox. This was a cause of distress too as the disease would spread and kill many tribes of American Indians as well as the new comers.

With so many differences, both started to think they were trying to attack each other. And thus this led to a war known as King Philip's War.

Chief Massasoit had a son named 'Metacom'. Metacom was also called 'Metacomet'. He was the leader of tribal group called as 'Wampanoag Indians'. Metacom was known as 'King Philip' by the English people. With the help of Metacom, the European settlers came to know many tips and tricks to survive in extreme winter conditions.

After many years, Metacom's brother died due to the disease that European settlers had brought with them years ago. Thus Metacom blamed all the colonists for his brother's death. This led to the King Philip's War and many historians believe that innocent Indians of different tribes too were killed during this war. Many children and women too died.

The clashes kept happening and later on more settlers from European side came to setlls down. After them came the Dutch and settled in area which is today called as New york state.
