[1] Suppose that the system has one main component and a (cold) standby unit. The standby unit will take over the main component upon its failure. If the failure rate of the components are constant with a value of 0.1/day and if the system fails if and only if both components have failed, answer the following questions.
a)Set up the system using continuous-time Markov chain and obtain its generator by clearly identifying and labeling the states.
b)Find the reliability of the system.
c)Find the reliability for 10 days.
d)Find the failure rate of the system. Analyze this rate by identifying the regions where the rate is increasing, decreasing, constant, etc.
e)Find the mean time to failure of the system.
