You recently completely overhauled several aspects of employee benefits, including health insurance and compensation packages. You have also developed clear succession plans and career development plans to assist in the retention of your current employees. You are pretty excited about the changes and feel they are better for the employees, while costing your organization less money. These plans came from your development of a strategic plan and goals set last year. You think these plans will result in lower turnover.
However, in four recent exit interviews, the former employees mentioned the lack of communication from your department on the changes you made. They said they did not feel well informed and are disappointed they were not notified. In addition, they complained of micromanagement on the part of two particular managers. They said they spend half of their day responding to their managers with project updates, instead of working on the projects themselves. As you begin to think about these exit interviews, you realize that development of the strategic plan and implementing it simply isn’t enough; you must communicate the changes to employees as well. You also have a bit of concern about the management styles mentioned and think it might be a good time to offer training on effective management to your entire company.
QUESTIONS;
Using concepts from this chapter and other HRM chapters, develop an outline for a training program on effective management.
Discuss some of the ways you can communicate the following topics to the employees: changes to benefits, training opportunities, compensation plans, and succession plans.
Answer-
Training is a procedure to adjust the behvior, aptitudes set, information level and increased comptenece of the employees.
I will address the importance of training to the employees with the accompanying headings in short:
Changes to benefits:
As an organizational representative, I assure all of you that once you will change your behvior and ability unquestionably you will get higher compensation as well as additional benfits from the organization.
Our training program will force you to get maximum organizational advantages by demonstrating business related attitude.
Training opportunities:
Each worker from front line to top management level will have equal opportunities to do training from their separate department . They will be told once such program will be organized. It will be mandatory to get promotion and overall development in career path.
We shall even give MDPs, Skill development initiatives and innovation enhancement opportunities to our regular employees.
Compensation plans:
We will have distinctive pay slabs where individuals will be kept according to their entrance into the organizational framework. We have starting opening from Management trainee to elevate present up on CEO or partner in our organization. Compensation will be according to industry standards. Nobody is denied with better compensation according to expertise and talent.
Pay equality will be established for same level specialists and managers. We have motivations and bonus every once in a while. We shall give climb from 5% to half on annual basis. Training will be connected to pay increase and performance management.
Succession plans:
Individuals will be recruited to the future leadership jobs based on their ability, leadership qualities and contribution to the organization. Some brilliant individuals will be chosen and they will be extra monitored with training and other official development programs to make them effective leaders in forthcoming years.
Legitimacy and ability will be given need while succession to first class openings with the top management.
