Security controls are the safeguard which protects the application from being used by intruders. Organisation serves large number of applications to clients but it also ensures security to clients inorder to avoid security breach. Organisation uses many security controls such as firewalls, antivirus system, alarms etc.

Organisation doesn't ensures security of applications only upto developmental phase. It ensures security after deployment. The reason for applying security control is to protect sensitive data. The application is either used in computer or mobile. These devices contains large sets of sensitive data.If application is not secured then data breach can be easily done by attackers .Organisation also prevents accessing applications that can be used by third party application. Suppose you have installed fraud application mistakely. Once you will enter sensitive data then that application can monitor your data. So here restriction of third party usage is highly prohibited.

These were the reasons that's why organisation apply security controls on applications.
