Conduct outside research on the D.E.S.C Script for Assertiveness. Discuss why it may be important as a leader to write a D.E.S.C script for a conflict situation. Choose a situation that may be a conflict situation, and describe the situation. Then, prepare a D.E.S.C. script for that situation. D.E.S.C Script is a imprortanat tools to a leader can used to manage the conflict because by this tool difficult conversations, when the stakes and emotions are high can be described, expresses, specified in assertive manner with consequences of the matter.

for example-

there is a lady employee working with a male employee in a company. lady employee feels that her male co-worker is more touchy to her which makes her uncomfortable & she is so furious about this behavior from him every day.

so in this matter manager as leader can use the  D.E.S.C Script to understand her situation & provide the basis to managee that conflict.

lets make the  D.E.S.C Script for above situation-

Describe: I feel very uncomfortable when you stand so close to me, try to touch me and bring me gifts. I believe this is sexual harassment.
Express: I do not like this behaviour and as a result I feel very uneasy working here with you.
Specify (the desired outcome): I am asking that you stop this behaviour and treat me as a professional colleague.
Consequences: If this behaviour does not stop, I will be reporting it to the director.

yes this tool should be used in leadership role because it would simple down the complex situation & provide the effective & timely decisions.

its benefits and drawbacks-

benefits-

1. defensiveness is decreased
2. it would help to express & communicate feelings accurately
3. remove the unwanted things from the matter
4. attainment of respect from others

drawbacks-

1. some facts may be ignored by simpling down the matter
2. it can cause a little biasness from the matter.
