Expert Solution

1) collection - it is first step in solid waste management system. solid waste from domestic and industrial sources are collected by municipal team to carry out further process. there are two type of collection process namely 1) primary collection 2) secondary collection.

Primary collection is the way of collecting waste from the place where the person or organization that generated the waste is placing it. Secondary collection is the collection in which waste from different primary collection sites is taken to the transferring stations

2) Transferring station - The main reason for using the transfer station is to lower the cost of transportation of waste to

waste management sites.

3) Recycling - The main purpose of recycling is (a) Lowers waste exported to landfill sites and incinerators

b) Eliminates pollution by decreasing the need for new materials to be collected.

4) composting - Composting is a way to exploit the natural decomposition process to accelerate the decline of waste. It is simple matter in waste management which utilize the natural process to decompose solid waste. different layer of waste are pile one above the other for a longer period below the ground. by product of composting can be used as manure.

5) Landfill - A landfill is an designed hole in the ground that fills, compacts and covers layers of waste for final disposal.

6) Landfill closure - it is final step in waste management practice. In this final cover over landfill is placed so that no hazardous waste exposed to environment.
