We all have different kinds of mental stress.More stress will lead to physical and mental problems.During the time of ageing brain cells lose the skill to regulate the hormone level.This results to produce larger amount of stress hormones in older people.Most of the older people will have a fear in their mind by declining health,loss of independence,feeling loneliness,running out of money,not being able to live at home.They may have afraid of falling, and of being dependent .Common fears about ageing can lead to anxiety .Some of the emotional signs of stress are

anxiety

depression

compulsive behaviour

mood swings

memory problems

apathy sleeping more than ususl

difficulty in making decisions

use alcohol or drugs to release stress

being more emotional

This can be overcome by identifying the cause of stress.ThIS can be done by family members or care givers by paying atttention to the elderly problems.Together it is able to prevent stress effectievly .Some of the tips we can use for stress relief is yoga,meditation,starting new hobbies,new goal settings,and by getting involved in nature .
