2. Following, what level of measurement is used to measure variable? Identify if quantitative or categorical? If quantitative, identify if it is discrete or continuous?
A) How many cars have the persons owned over their lifetime?
The number of cars that PERSON can own is a quatatitative value , it has to be discrete as we cant have cars in decimal numbers (continous)
B) Is the person dent right or left-handed?
This is whether the dent is right handed or left handed , thus it can a categorical variable as it can take only 2 values - left or right
C) What is the person's year of birth?
year of birth are quantitative numbers , they cant be decimal numbers. they can only take values such as 1996 , 1983 etc
D) On a scale from 1 to 5, for 1 being not at satisfied and 5 being
completely satisfied with the food, to what extent do you agree
with the following statement – “I love math!”?
as the scale are numeric in nature but they can only take 5 values , thus we can treat them as categorical variable where the category can take only 5 unique values - 1 2 3 4 5
