What are the health effects of the following pollutants?
Carbon monoxide
Airborne particles
Ultrafine particles
Bioaerosols
Carbon monoxide poisoning causes headache,
dizziness, vomiting, nausea. If the levels of CO are very high it
leads to unconsciouness or might lead to death. Long time exposure
to CO increses the risk of heart disease.
Airborne particles reduces the air quality and
visibility and may have adverse effects on healths, particularly
for people who already have breath related problems. They might
cause the dust storms.
Ultrafine particles: Exposure to ultrafines
particles cause the respiratory related illnesses primary related
to lung cancer and heart diseases. It may cause the Crohn's disease
and epithelum of the gut. These particles exogenous particles such
as the titanium dioxide which is used as the whitening agent in
food and pharmaceuticals.Endogenous particles produced by the
metabolism such as calcium phosphate, may also play a role in
Crohn;s disease.
Bioaerosols: Exposure to the bioaerosols are
associsted with wide range of health effects including the
infectious diseases, acute toxic effects, allergies and cancer.
Respiratory symptoms and lung function impairment are the most
widely studied and probably among the most important
bioaerosol-associated health effects.
