Expert Solution

Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) is the kind of medical imaging which is utilized in the field of radiology to form the pictures of the physiological and anatomical process. These are strong magnetic field and field gradients that help to generate the images of the organ in the body. This technique is non-invasive which is responsible to produce the detailed anatomical images. This help to detect the disease and treatment as well as for monitoring purpose. This is a sophisticated technology that moves in the direction of the rotational axis and found the water that makes up the living tissues. This is formed by a powerful magnet that produces a strong magnetic field that forces the protons in the body to align with that field. Physicians can able to tell the difference between the type of tissue based on the magnetic properties.
Magnetic resonance imaging is the preferred imaging technique in the children because this allows frequent scanning for short and long-term studies diseases. This is responsible for the valuation of different functional aspects like lungs, chest, and diaphragm mechanics. The cross-sectional manner identifies the anatomy of the different organs of the body.
Magnetic resonance imaging causes limitations and risks like they may affect the radiation-related problems in the body. Although, they are safe and relatively easy. This is a very expensive and time-consuming investigation as compared to other kinds of investigations like CT scan and x-ray. These are the simple techniques as compared to X-Ray but Magnetic resonance imaging may not be able to tell the difference about some process of diseases.
