Using a flow diagram (arrows), describe the pathway of pulmonary circulation. List the valves involved in each pathway.
Pulmonary Circulation
It is a part of circulatory system in which impure blood ( Deoxygenated blood) from various parts of body is converted into Pure blood ( Oxygenated blood ) in Lungs .
*Deoxygenated blood comes from all over the body to Right atrium through superior and inferior vena cava ------->>>Then the blood goes from Right atrium into Right ventricle through atrioventricular valve ( Tricuspid valve ) ------->Then from Right ventricle blood goes to Lungs through Pulmonary artery via Pulmonary valves For oxygenation ------->>Oxygenated blood from Lungs enters the left atrium through Pulmonary veins ----->>Then blood reaches the Left Ventricles from Left atrium through Atrioventricular valve ( Mitral valve ) ------>>From their the blood is transported to all parts of body through Aorta for metabolic needs to get fulfilled .Blood reaches the Aorta through Aortic valve .
Here blood flow from Right ventricle to Lungs constitute Pulmonary Circulation .Atrioventricular valve is the valve between atrium and ventricle .Right side valve is known as Tricuspid valve and on Left side is known as Mitral valve .
