React to the #me to movement

Expert Solution

#Metoo was first used by Tarana Burke and was popularized by Alyssa Milano when she encouraged women to tweet it to "give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem". The #Me Too movement went viral in October 2017 as a hashtag on social media platforms to help demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and harassment. I think sexual abuse is a very serious concern in our society, but to fight it we need to change our attitudes towards women and take actions severely against those found guilty. Merely sharing the post million times can create awareness among people but it is not enough to fight this evil. It has to be accompanied by actions. We need to be little less ignorant in this regard and open our eyes to see the reality. It is easier said than done, that's why I think #metoo is just the initiative and we must actively take forward this through our actions and not just by words.
