Hispanics is the largest minority group in US. For every five students going to college, one is Hispanic. One of the major reasons they face challenges is due to high school drop out rates. Nearly 17 out of every 36 students is Hispanic. Another reason being the poverty in which their family lives. In the survey report of year 2009, it was observed that 23% were hispanics that lived below poverty line. Due to this reason, they could not provide much needed educational resources to their children, that leads to low grades in class or even dropping out. There are cases of native born and foreign born hispanics. Native born hispanics are more fluent in English language, due to which, there are more social and perform well in class. On the other hand, foreign born hispanics find themselves uncomfortable in communicating with teachers, leading to bad effect on their studies. Studies show that only 35% of foreign born hispanics get enrolled in college compared to 60% in case of native born. As they drop out from college at early age, the female candidates are forced to get married. Due to this the percentage of females under the age of 19 becoming mother is much high. Some studies show that the education equity faced by hispanics is also due to the large immigration. According to the studies of 1840-1889, nearly 14000 immigrants were recorded which computes to 0.77%. These ones are thus increasing the percentage of hispanics that are unable to complete their studies from colleges due to financial, cultural, social and other economic factors, leading to educational equity.
