1-Polaroid instituted a lawsuit against GoPro. Please explain the basis of the lawsuit and what subject that was covered in our class is involved. What action has been taken by GoPro in response to the suit? Also, state your opinion as to which party will prevail and the reasons for your opinion.

2-what is Tory Burch doing in regard to the problem of counterfeiting. What suggestions would you have for Tory's brand to reduce the danger of counterfeit products of their brand?

1.The C&A marketing company which makes Polaroid camera filed a case against GoPro camera making company in 2015.The case was basically a patent infringement case.Polaroid company filed the case saying that GoPro copied its design of a cube camera which was already patented by the company in 2015.GoPro launched its Hero session-4 camera in July 2015 and was almost similar to the Polaroid cube camera.

Actions Taken by GoPro in response to the suit

• After filing the lawsuit by Polaroid GoPro also counter-attacked Polaroid by claiming that it also copied two patented software of GoPro.The first one is that the software used by Polaroid to preview the video footage and pictures remotely without using any mobile data was actually copied from GoPro's patented software
• The second one was that the case design of the cube by Polaroid was also copied from the GoPro Hero.
• GoPro claimed that it started working on the software and hardware of that type of camera even before the research of Polaroid and also filed a patent in US court.

As per my opinion, the case should be in favor of GoPro as the patent which is with Polaroid does not mention the size of the camera.Though the design of GoPro was same the size was little bigger than the Polaroid Cube.As other companies like Fujifilm are also making the similar type of camera there will be some design change in those which diminishes the patent effect of Polaroid.

2. Tory-Burch a fashion luxury brand is facing a lot of counterfeiting cases.So, the company adopted some methods to handle these attacks.

• On their official website, they clearly mention a section of FAQ for counterfeiting which makes aware the consumers about fake products.
• They have clearly mentioned some of the fake website names in that section which are counterfeiting the brand's products.
• They encourage customers to report counterfeiting incidents to their enforcement division through which they can take action against them
• This Brand has tied up with numerous law agencies and enforcement directorate throughout the world to tackle these kinds of situations.
• As per my view regarding this they should make robust their marketing network to make the product reachable to the consumer, By this, they can bridge the gap so there will be less chance of faking their product worldwide.
