1. Can emergent change be intentional? How can emergent change be used to bring about a specific end result?
2. How would Lewin’s three-step model compare to the first three steps in Kotter’s eight-step model of change?
3. Explain in what situations downsizing/restructuring is the best solution instead of utilizing other employee cutback strategies?
As per policy, I have answered one question.
1.
Answer:- Emergent change is a change that is continuous, unpredictable, and connects an organization to its changing environment.
The organization makes numerous decisions that are not related to the change that occurs. As it can come from anywhere and unplanned so it cannot be described as intentional.
To bring specific end result emergent change can be used as:-
1) Can be used to bring new meaningful change to the whole organization.
2) Depending on the change creating a customized program and new technology.
3) Take a series of actions that will transform into a stable pattern of behavior with time.
4) Powerful culture transformation which improves the organization as a unified team.
5) Decline in management control behavior as it influences the change in direction.
