Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare has been a talk of the town in political arena ever since its idea was placed in 2009 by than president Mr. Obama. There have been number of complelling reasons with Republicans to oppose the law like
Owing to many other reasons besides there, Supreme Court in 2012 declared the law as unconstitutional. As evident from the figures above, the law also had very poor approval ratings in its initial years.
However, the law is gaining popularity among masses and following can be the possible reasons for the same:
- Republicans suggested to roll back provisions the require insurance companies to cover maternity care or prescription drugs. Polls suggest that 62% want not to remove these provisions
- Mass leaders are arguing that new administration should try to cover the loopholes by amending it instead of repealing it and introducing a new law.
