Employee Handbooks serves like a Bible in any organization. It explains each and every aspect of a professional organization and how one should behave when they join the firm and should stick to the policies mentioned in the Employee Handbook.

Employee Handbook serves as intermediate between the Employee and Employer. Employee handbook is instrumental in outlining the relationship in the form of providing all possible information in the booklet itself. Most importantly when an employee joins the firm it gives a clear guidance of the company vision & mission which is very important for a new hire to know and also it gives the company code of conduct and what employee to do to achieve them. It also gives the clear indication of what happens if any policies are violated. This way employee would know what needs to be done and what is expected out of him \ her.

Also the Employee handbook talks about the roles and responsibilities of an individual based on the designation they are in the company and also it describes what is required to be done to move up to upper grades. This gives a better clarity among the individuals. Not only about the work, employee handbook talks about what employees are supposed to do if they are in trouble or if they are facing any kind of harassment at the workplace. It gives a better clarity on who should be contacted in order to express the problems one is facing in the company and shows the path on what are the steps needs to be followed to ensure the grievances are addressed. The handbooks gives clarity on what kind of employee development programs are conducted in the company and how they can be utilized to make sure everyone grow in the company.

The employee handbook lets an employee know how they are supposed to be careful about handling the company assets like lap tops, telephones, Internet and any other things. It gives a clear and strict instruction on how the data to be maintained confidentially. Company Assets are not meant to be used for personal purpose. IF any employee violates the rule, handbook gives clear indication if what will be the consequence. Also the Handbook give information on how many leaves a person can avail in a year.

Hence the above said points will be crystal clear in the Employee Handbook. This becomes very useful for employees to understand how the company runs and what their policies are. Even for the employers it becomes easy to set the expectation from the employee and for any queries employees have, they can ask the employees to refer the Employee Handbook for better understanding. This helps in avoiding in any kind of blame game if any issue occurs. All the points will be covered in the handbook and for employers it becomes easy to address the issue. Also either an employer or an employee cannot manipulate anything. The handbook really plays a vital role in an organization and also maintains the harmony between employer and employee
