Critical thinking or cognitive processes are very important in every day life. In order to function properly, there are important thought processes involved, that include deliberate thought processes. When reason and logic are used to arrive at a conclusion, it is called use of cognitive processes. Some applications in daily life include:

  • In order to identify if the news that is circulating around us is reliable or not.
  • In the digital era today, it has to be very important to identify if the reports are reliable or not. Most of the cognitive distortion occur with perceiving incorrect information.
  • In order to identify if the group we are hanging out with is influencing our life in a positive manner or in a negative manner.
  • Thought processes have to be shaped such that a person should be able to identify the implications of their actions and the effect it would have on people.
  • If a person does not use critical thinking or thought processes in every day life, any person around would be able to benefit or take false advantage.
  • To come out of any situation that would be difficult or where thinking on the spot would be required, such as in hospital scenarios.
  • In fact, critical thinking is also required in actions as important as driving, where, it would be required to look at different situations, analyse the surroundings and vary speed,.
