What does it mean to practice scientific misconduct? Outline the distinctions between plagiarism, falsification of data, and fabrication of data. Why is behavior of this type not only a moral failure, but also a threat to public well-being?
Scientific misconduct is a violation of the standard code of conduct. This is also a violation of ethical behavior. In other work this the fabrication or falsification of the research. Plagiarism is another deviation from the code of conduct.
As it is mention above that scientific misconduct is falsification, fabrication, plagiarism of the reporting research, there is a need to outline the difference.
Plagiarism is the idea od stilling other's ideas, research, process, words without their content, and without giving them appropriate credits.
Fabrication making up the data. Recording and reporting them is also a fabrication.
Falsification manipulating the data or research and changing and vomiting the results also considered as falsification.
These behaviours are not only a moral failure but also the threat for the public well being. These behaviours compromise the trust, integrity which leads to developing a bad approach and signal the wrong message, as people lost the credibility of the people as well as the research.
