Expert Solution

The competitive advantage of Sonic's over other fast-food franchises is the drive-in business model they are using. Usually, the other food chains provide seating and drive-thru facilities. But Sonic is making use of the drive-in model where the customers can order the food from their vehicle and park it in their area that belongs to Sonic's, the food will be delivered to them using a special vehicle or the delivery guys use roller skates to deliver the food in their parking area. This is a unique concept that has caught the attention of a lot of customers and it is growing to be a threat to some of the biggest names in the industry like McDonald's and Burger King. They also have a very distinct advantage in their menu and also in the usage of technology. The company provides the broadest menu option with a large number drinks that can be customized. They are also using high-end technology to give a high-feel to the customer experience.
