Ans) a) Research topic is like a starting point, it gives the insight into the nature of study of research. It broad, neutral, objective and open ended. They are broad in a sense that they do not ask question, neutral in a sense that they do not take a stand, they are objective as they lead to minimal data but not necessarily improving the argument and they discuss open ended idea.
Research question are meant for fulfilling the objectives of the topic, the one it seeks to answer. It is narrow, takes a position, is subjective and gives direction to research. It is narrow as it focuses on a single question and subjective as they give detailed evaluation.
b) The purpose of a research topic is to give an insight into the research and catch the attention of readers. It shows the goal of the research and the usefulness of the study.
